Default Bumping up to 103"

I have an 07 Ultra and I'm thinking I want to go bigger than the stock 96". I'm looking for some real world experience withsome of the103" kits. I'm interested in only kits at this point since I'm not really sure what this job entales. I don't want to do anything to the cases, just heads, pistons and cams. I'd like to know what HD does to a warranty if I do this, if I use SE parts will it still be warranteed?

Send a PM to lkro on this site--he did a Head-Quarters 103" recently. You can price the different HQ 103's here:

http://www.head-quarters-usa.com/customtwintype07t.html

Using SE parts, per se, won't preserve your warranty. HD offers specific kits for 103's that will preserve your warranty provided the kit is installed by HD. Nidan on this site did one of these and is pleased with it.

Also, most HD dealers will warranty whatever engine work they do with SE or reputable aftermarket parts; however, that is the dealer's warranty, not the MOCO's warranty, and it won't do youmuch good if you have a breakdown on a trip.

My last build was 95" Crusher Kit with Harley heads ported with bigger valves. It made 121 H.P. and 108 torque.

It seems like these posts are the same thing and the same people reccomending the same stuff Every 103 thread is HQ and GMR it seems like no offense but theres a million ways to skin a cat..

My 08SG is going in Monday and will post numbers Friday and No it's not a HQ But I'm sure I will be happy I researcehed countless places and talked to alot of Indys there all better then the other guy

Bottom line go find a Indy you can trust and go from there... There is no right or wrong Just depends what your looking for

Ask yourself what you want and go for it right??

Myself I'm porting my own heads throwing a bigger set of cams going to 10.5-1 compression and Flat Top pistons and This baby should scream right??

Go G-Men

I have the HQs 103 kit that I am more than statisfied with, the customer service is excellent ---you can call them and tell them what you are looking for out of a build they may recommend you go to another company --- they won't sell you something you don't need.

My HQs build will pull the front wheel up --- I don't know if I can get up as high as PhilM cause I'm a chicken chit--- you can slip the clutch and it will slide from side to side --- these two things was what I wanted most from my build and reliability---I don't do overnight trips or anything like going across country--- going out more than 150 miles and bike is in the back of the truck.

There is nothing wrong withSE parts or any of the good quality stuff out there-- given the chance do it all over again I would get the HQs kit only this time I would do the 113-- HQs stuff looks like art work---it sat in my living room for two weeks.

I have learned there are two keys to any buildparts that compliment each other (I heard this once or twice) and the builder

Do you want the "REAL" truth, or a bunch of crap ? Here's the deal. Sure you can find some pretty good 103 builds. but before it's over. It will get you for at least $4K. The truth about these Harley engines...Open up the breather, a good exhaust and leave it alone. You will get the best out of that engine if you don't do mods. 100K. If you do install mods, you may get 40 to 50K max. Don't let anyone bullshit you into thinking you will get a good resale or return on a mod. You wont. Plus the 07 Engine has weak bearings on the crank. We get way to many bikes in with crank bearing issues.

We install stages all day, but everyone knows if you want long life out of that engine, leave it alone. Just my 2 .
