Jersey here and ditto what Poppy said. Neverhad a problem attached to the underside of my hard bag.....and I can lock the bag and not forget about leaving it where it will get ripped off.
I bring my EZ-Pass with me on my Sporty and no matter what I do it never registers(well maybe 1 out of 10 times). I even stopped at a tollbooth once took it out and waved it around and it never registered.
I went to the EZ-Pass office here and when I walked in the lady greeted me with "So you're having trouble with EZ-Pass registering on your bike huh?" She said as long as you have your plate registered on you account, you won't be fined. She pulled up my account and it showed about 20 pictures of the bike where the EZ-Pass didn't register. She said don't worry, so I'm not....
I keep mine in my saddlebag. Most of the time I just blow through the toll tag lane. I figure if they get my picture, they'll run the plate, find it registered and just charge my account. Been doing it like that for three years. So far so good.
I bought a cheap pass holder with suction cups and carry a bottle of water to wet the cups. I just mount it on the windshield. Haven't had a issue falling off yet! Have driven from De to NC and back. No issues.
