Default siren install HELP

help i have the radio shack siren. i hooked the red wire to the brown and the black to the green. when i turn the ignition on the siren comes on. what went wrong? 08 ultra. thanks Dale in Casper

This is not a smart *** question but did you have your fob with you when you turned on the ignition? If not, the siren will go off after a few seconds.

Just did this this afternoon - not a problem here. Sure you have the black wire in the right place? Mine went in the center hole. The wire looked green with a darker stripe, the right wire (empty space) looked darker with a greenish stripe. Don't know what else it could be.

yes black wire in middle red to brown. i looked in the service manual. the brown is fused power the middle is alarm signal from modual and the thrid is ground. dale

Hmmm... sounds like you have it wired correctly. Are you sure you're on the right connector? Left side? Do the turn signals flash as well? The siren should "chirp" as you turn the ignition on and off or arm/disarm. Can you still start the bike with the siren going off?

Danng - any chance it's a variation of the siren but not the right one? From my receipt, #2730079.
Edit - something else to think about - it's a $6.00 part after all, maybe the siren is shorted?
