I recently changed cams in my 2012 FLHX. Here is my set up -103", Stock flat top pistons, .030 head gaskets, SE 259e cams, Burley heads, SE Pro tuner, SE Heavy Breather, D&D fat cat. The attached dyno sheet is comparing this build with two different mufflers, a louvered wrapped, and a perforated. You can see the Perforated muffler made more Tq. but less Hp., but also the perforated muffler came on a lot later in the RPM range and also lost out by a little after 5000 RPMs. I didn't ride the bike with both mufflers, and chose to stay with the Louvered muffler for two reasons, First the Louvered muffler is more tolerable, and in my opinion better sounding, and second I think the earlier Tq. with the Louvered muffler is going to be more beneficial. What do you think?
Softy, Congrats dude...you got yourself a really nice strong running 103". Can't ask for much more. Can you tell us more about the Burly heads ? never heard of them...there not affiliated with Burly Bars, Cables, etc ? Good work on the build, and those SE 259 cams seem to be working out well for a lot of folks. Cheers...

My Dealer uses a lot of these heads, all I know is the guy who builds them is name is Earl and he is in southern California.

I think your choice as far as muffler would be mine as well for all the same reasons as you gave. The hp difference you would never feel and the earlier torque could only be a plus. That bike must be a blast to ride. That torque curve was awesome......job well done!
like Vance&Hines exhaust, LOL. My stage 2 with non harley cams, lifters, and pushrods, powervision tunner and gutted headpipe had a tranny issue [$1,700.00] to fix and 2 months out of warranty. I do not use harley tranny fluid and the dealer got it fixed with goodwill warranty from HD.

Dealers get a certain amount of goodwill warranty money from HD a year. It's a pretty low amount, as low as $5,000 for some dealers. They can use a goodwill at there discression. I would bet that you either have a buddy that is high up at the dealer, you work at a dealer or you are a very good customer of that dealer. Either that or they had some goodwill money they had to use up by the end of the year. Either way, congrats on getting it fixed. Most people would not have.
