SO far I've installed D&D 2:1 Fat Cat pipe with ghost pipe, Thundermax autotune. I'm investigating whether the SE stage 4 will give me more low to mid range torque or whether flowing the heads, 10:1 pistons, S&S 583 cams and crank work will do better? Anyone have an opinion?
Previous owner of my 2002 road king built more of a HP set up, by the looks of it. I notice my Dyno looks very different from most on here. I cant say I often feel the need for gobs of low end torque or HP, but maybe I just don't know what I'm missing? Cruising speed at 60 mph in forth gear is around 3K RPM, just a little twist of the grip and the thing feels like it has rockets under it! I do like that! What would be a good next step down in cams from my 264's to gain some low end but still keep the higher RPM bump and fun factor. I like the feeling of ever increasing power the faster the revs but would like some more low end power also, but I don't need it at 2K RPM only to petter out at 4K. What would be the next cam step down to gain a little on the bottom end but keep things fun in the top end? "103 kit with 264 cams, high comp postons, Reinheart true duals, screaming eagle A/C race kit, screaming eagle race tuner".
Have you looked into the S&S 585 cams yet?? I've had great results with mine!
question for you motorheads,I'm currently upgrading one of my bikes.
2009 Ultra, here is what I've done,
Heads ported polished and tilted.
Bigger valves and springs.
10.1 compression
.30 gasket
stock 96 jugs.
SE Ventilator.
SE255 cams.
True dual Rineharts, 3/1/2
Thundermax.
Here is the argument with my Indy, I wanted to put a 58mm throttle body, and new injectors, he says for what I'm doing I'm wasting my money, but If I want them, He will throw them in.
Will I get any performance gain out of the TB and the injectors?

Reason: added something
There's no need for larger injectors for that build.
I'm running stock fuel injectors in my 106" build, even at 10.8:1 CR.... 122 Tq/118 Hp. Listen to your indy.

Thanks to the Forum members who encouraged me to take on this task and then guide me thru the build and also helped me do it on a budget and save a lot of cash...
1..With only about 20K miles on my 2001 RK I decided to check the tenisioners for wear.
2..What i found scared me to death..Inside shoe had about 90% wear and a fractures
3..I decided then that I was gonna fix this puppy on a budget in my garage...NOW
4..Bought new S&S 510G cams and gears w/SE pushrods and all bearings for @ 550.00
5..Went to Advance Auto and got bearing installer and puller on loan a tool for FREE...
6..Paid a local shop to press in the new cams into my camplate...cost 42.00
7..The job was not that hard and taking my time and being very **** it took about a week
8.. Remember being on a budget I called several sources to get the best price on a Dyno.
9..Winter special pricing ranged from a low 150 to 300..All CLAIMED they were the best..
10.Settled on a HD dealer that impressed me with their presentation and price of 175.00
11.I watched it all, 3 hrs @ 9 miles of dyno time on the bike he was finally finished..
12..I have the MM F/I which has some hot/cold idle quirks that are unique to deal with.
13.When all was said and done I left the dealer with a smile on my face...and I even spent some extra money on extra stuff because of the great Deal they gave me..
14.Bottom line @ 800.00, including parts and Dyno Tune. Dyno numbers 75hp/84tq.
15. Gotta give a Big Thanks and credit to Down Home Harley Davidson, in Burlington NC.
Did a Dyno run today, 117tq and 108hp. I am happy.

I know I can get a little more out of it if I went to a 2 into 1 pipe. Maybe next winter.
By the way, it was a RAINY DAY during the run, and I got wet on the way home. Still lovin' it.
