Default ideas for full custom bagger

Im starting new project and looking for input from other who ride baggers.Im thinking about building a ground up custom bagger.I mean starting with new tubing and builing it all.I want to make use of as many hd parts as possible w/o comprimising the design of bike.Id like to keep original wiring. rubber mount tc,maybe 150 ci or more with a procharger or turbo probaly procharger though.Ied also like to make it whre factory tank and suspenion parts will work. The reason is so that any road problems will be easier to find parts.
As for frame Im thinking of stiffer design, wider tire maybe 200 few degrees extra in front end.lower seat position.futhure back seating position for more comfort on long trips like the one I just finished 6600 miles.Next one is in 2 years to alaska figure itll hit 12000.
So if you ride long trips and have an idea as to what would make ride more comfortable let me know ideas. Thanks

You already have your own ideas, why are you asking anyone? The whole idea of building your own custom is to make it yours, not anyone elses. Just do it, and be sure to post some pics. Good luck.

if i change the factory frame its still harley only improved.aslong as the numbers are still on the frame to match the title its still a harley.as for why Im asking for ideas I figure its always good to get other veiws, dont have to use them but some are good and incorporating them just adds to finished product

[ul][*]Lower the seat without lowering the frame. i.e...no shorter shocks, lowering kit...just get the seat lower to the ground. A lower bagger pulling a trailer is a real pickle... The frame does not need to be any lower only the rider position.[*]modify the front fender so the brake calipers come off easier. A slight design change should accomplish this and still be able to use the "full" touring fender.[*]electronic reverse gear...similar to, dare i say it...a gold wing...this would allow backing up on a fully loaded bike much easier without having to reach down to engage the reverse gear.[/ul]That is all i can think of of the top of my head.

hey cardboard just got back from 6600 mile road trip sunday.we rode 1000 of it saturday and into sunday morning.Thats where the idea came from to build a groundup bagger.Besides building a new bikes is as much fun as riding it.And to me there nothing cooler than having someone say hey cool bike ,who built it and being able to say I did.Ive even had few guys ask if Id build them one, until they get the price of a true custom bike.
As for the riding thats not a problem I can bar hop on my hot rod springer or tour on my roadking custom, like i said I just retuned from coast to cast ride.

Take a look at Darg Specialties. The VROD with RoadGlide faring Rg hard bags and some other mods is out of this world. It may give you some ideas or a direction.

If you change out from a Factory HD Frame to an Aftermarket Frame - It WILL NOT be considered a Harley any longer (This is a HD Rule and tpo re-register in most states)...

Have dealed with this many times in the past...
