damn, you were really hard on this newby (not a troll), he never had a chance!
Picked up 08 ultra \\;10 days ago \\;mine idles between 1300 and 1900. tried cycling the ignition on and off 4 times and that reduced idle to 1100 but only lasted about a day. with 1200 miles on the bike it still idles consistintly at 1900rpm.Getting 1000 mile service monday and will get this resolved \\;at the dealer. \\;
I have 3000+ miles on mine, the only probem was the throtte spring would not pull it back to the original position but leave it whereever you took your hand off, the dealer reduced the friction, lubed it some, and it has worked great ever since. I had the stage one done at a thousand miles with the HD download, bike runs great, the mileage is between 30 and 38 mpg depending on how I twist the throttle. Sure is fun though. \\;
exactly right! I say take it easy just a little bit. There is some kind of reset on the switch being turned on and off 4 times to reset the throttle position. Dealer said that was my issue until I told them to hook the damn thing up and check a little further after I stalled it in a 4 lane road out in front leaving the dealer.
I guess I am one of the lucky ones. There was no getting used to it, it works exactly that same as the other dozen or so bikes I have had with throttle cables. 5,000 flawless miles. No delay in throttle response.
 \\;
I wouldn't go back to my '05 for anything less than a bigger stack of money than I have invested in my '08. Then I'd go out and buy another '08
