Lets see if I can explain this...When I come down off the freeway down to the end of the ramp to stop at the light my 06 RK is idling high-1500? As 5-10-15 seconds go by it slowly works its way back down to the normal idle speed (which is still to high for my liking, but oil pressure is good!) Anyone know why it does this?
I have a SERT installed, can the dealer re-program that 'step-down' process out of the bike? It also does this at start-up. I just want it so if I have no throttle applied it is at normal idle, and if it won't stay running, I will take care of it manually.
Any fixes or should I just trade it for a shovel
RE: Can the EFI Idle be made 'normal"\\\\\\\\\\\\\\;?
I'm thinking you started at high idle to begin with and it was because you turned the bike off last without letting the idle come all the way down. It's a bug and Harley is going to be coming out with a fix.
Turn bike on, if it idles high, leve the Run switch ON, shut the engine down by turning the center ignition switch OFF, then turn ignition switch ON (DON'T START BIKE) until EFI runs and stops. Do this 3 more times (4 total). It will reset your idle to normal.
Just remember when you are done with your next ride to let it idle a couple of seconds to let it come down before you shut the engine down.

Had some ideas, wrote them all down, obviously too long, booted out. \\; Not enough time to go through it all again right now, but maybe it will fix itself once the site works again.

I'm taking my '07 back to dealer for the third time for this very problem. \\; Mine has been high idle sticking since it was brand new. \\; I have the 103 kit with SERT. \\; When it's working it steps down the idle in an awkward way (e.g., won't idle all the way down until a few seconds afer I've come to a complete stop), and when it's not working it just sticks anywhere from 1700 to 2800 RPM. \\; It's really gettin' to be a pain in the a**, and I'm growing a little tired of the dealer's excuses and assurances about the problem. \\; It seems from what I've read on this board that this is a common problem. \\; Somebody better be figuring this out or they'll be buying mine back under the TX lemon law.

Good luck!
Dude, He's got an '06
+1 Definitely not the usual TBW thread. \\; Seen this on my shovel, could idle it down by lugging with the clutch. \\; Traced it to a very tiny intake leak. \\; Maybe ???
