Not sure on the EG, but on my RK I connected the power to the wires in my headlight nacelle. Got the idea from here on the forum. I fed the power cord up through the hole where the cable for the blinkers go through and zip tied them to this up the handlebar. Very clean and you can't see the Zumo cable at all.

Okay, this is what I did first went to www.Powerlet.net and purchased a power cord 17" long for the Zumo 550 to the cig lighter - should have gone with 15 to 16" long, but it is up to you to give them the length. Second I purchased from www.soundprofessionals.com a gold plated (for better sound) 3.5mm (1/8") right angle stereo cable. Once they arrived I just used the mount that comes with the Zumo then plugged it all togher and your done.

I used the Garmin mount to place it as far left as I could on the left handlebar. You need to drop the fairing to get behind it. I ran the cable through a grommet to reach behind the fairing. I crimped on two small blade connectors and inserted them into the spare power and ground connectors behind the headlight. I coiled up the extra cable and zip tied it in the jungle of wiring behind the radio stack so it wouldn't interfere or touch anything. The unit now powers on and off with the ignition and looks like it came that way. Careful with the damn screws that hold the fairing on. The lower left screw is hard to see and feel so I lost one. I didn't remove the fairing I just put a blanket over the front fender and let is gently rest there. The whole process took less than 30 minutes.

vinnieee: I went to powerlet.net and didn't find the cable you suggested. Do you happen to know the # ?

Using the supplied mouints and wiring, I mounted mine to the switch housing and wired it to the extra harness plugs inside the fairing on the headlight harness.

Simple, Clean, and works great.
