my 05 FLHRCI has "PORKER PERFORMANCE TRUE DUAL HEADERS" made by V&H along with "PYTHON SLIP ONS" cost was not an object. They work fine, sound great, and I saved a bundle not buying overpriced brands.
I did the same research a while back. Got tired of trying these slipon's and those pipes. Just didn't like the sound much less the performance.
Bit the bullet and just spent the cash and got Rinehart true duals without the cross over. If these burn up I'll get another set. After being told over and over I finally listened. Happy I did.
Are you trying for style or performance?
for style, true duals are the shiznitz. They look great and sound great. You can get several brands with baffles to have the tone of your choice.
However, for genearl riding performance, 2into1 seem to the a better choice. More torque, lower, tunable with baffles. BUT definately more sport bike look.
For me, performance is king - leaving that (explative deleted) at the light is exactly the ticket for his ahh so - slow.
True Duals you'll lose a bit of lower end... Rineharts... They Look GREAT & SOUND GREAT - but I have had a problem on my '01 RKC in the past so I wouldn't recommend them to anyone.... (Replaced 3 Mufflers for loose baffels - Had to replace the rear header pipe twice - Replaced the exhaust Black tips 3 times and there purple again)..
I am sure the dyno numbers show the loss in low end power, but I didn't notice ANY CHANGE in performance when I installed my V&H Dresser Duals w/ V&H oval slip-ons. Everybody likes to quote the statistics to justify the purchase of their own particular brand/style of pipes. I haven't had any issues keeping up with any other bike I've ridden with!
I went with the V&H Dresser Duals. The fit and finish are awesome. I also have the V&H Oval slip-ons. I love the look and sound. Not too loud at idle and low throttle, but crank it up a little and she really talks!!
I don't think you can go wrong with any of the name brand systems. Good luck with your search!!
