My 07 glide has 17000 miles ,some of those running to harley to find out what was making all the noise in my primary when letting the clutch out and some clunking while moving. They could find notjing wrong after going to three dealers, ,,so i took my bike to a local recommended indy shop and the guy told me up front, the compensator sprocket is probably bad. So , he tore into the primary as i watched and sure enough , it was not that the bolt was just loose but he showed me the spring and it was a mess, so when i read posts from the fellas on here that say forget about the hd mechanics or dealers and find a good indy, i say amen to them, and thank them for that advice. I can wrench a little bit , but nothing major. Thanks again
Thanks for that information, i had done a search earlier and read about the screamin eagle set up ,, and called the mechanic, and he had already sent for the regular replacement, but would call around again to search for the newer better version, but he would have had to order it. ,,so i told him to go ahead and finish with what he was getting... What is the price difference for the sreamin eagle setup?? Thanks
That different compensator may or may not be better for your application than the stock unit. If you're not bottoming-out your stock compensator, one with stiffer springs doesn't sound like any kind of an answer.
The stock comp is too weak even for a stock bike.On startup or on throttle puts the stocker at the very limit of its operation. The new SE comp is massive unit compared to stocker.
Yea, you can tell from the pics it looks like a much stronger assembly. I found them on zannottis web sit for i belive 219.00, and on surdyke for i belive 229.00.. I had the indy go ahead and replace the stock spring, but am thinking of ordering the screamin eagle setup and having him put it in ,, in the near future..
