I'm in process with one right now. I had it on my 2006 FLHTI(SE aircleaner and Rineghart true duels) and it ran great all decel popping was gone and it had better throttle response. It has been raining like crazy here in Northern Calif so I had the dealer install the 1550 kit with 203 cams. When I brought it home and installed the Thundermax and downloaded a 1550 code(and tried several other codes) the bike wouldnt run. I got hold of the main guy at Zippers that runs the Thundermax part told me they do not have a map for the 06's(only the stock 1450 with aircleaners and pipes)He also told me that by the end of next week they should have one.
been running the thundermax on my 06 dyna since november. ran great with the supplied map. have SE air cleaner and khrome works slip ons. have played around with tuning quite a bit and love it. am in the process of tuning to my 25 degree injectors now!
check out my photos. note they were taken with modified factory mufflers.
A friend of mine has one on his EG Classic. He loves it. I wish it had been available when I did my engine. I would've gotten one of those instead of the PCIII. Zippers is relatively close to me and I've been to the shop many times. Good people and products.
thanks guys, the thunder max sounds like the way to go.i have a 06 streetglide with rineharts and sert and se air.had it dyno tune hp78.06 torque 79.16,
but the poping on decell is bad.
I have the ThunderMax on for a week now. I have an 07 FLHTCU with SE A/C, V&H 2 into 1 and went to a 103". I can't beleive the difference with the Thundermax. You will love it.
I just picked up my 06 Street Glide with the ThunderMax installed on Monday. Wow! What a difference, the bike now runs like I expected it to from the beginning. I had 6600 miles on it and knew it just wasn't running right(way lean). Got about 200 miles on the T-Max and the bike runs so smooth and powerful. Absolutly no popping on decel except when I blip the throttle, my bad habit, need to lower the fuel accel to 3 or 4 so I have heard. I also have Rhinehart true duals and the stage 1 air cleaner. Gas mileage has gone down but that has to be expected if your going to correct a lean condition. Buy it, you'll love it!
Bought it also, just waiting to install it as my bike just arrived at the dealer today. Will keep you posted but from the research I have done, it's a great unit. Buy it from Bart (Shooter64) on this forum. He owns a bike dealership and sells products to forum members at very decent prices. I ordered my Thundermax from him and had it aired for next day delivery and still saved big $$$ over Zippers. Great company with awesome people and matched service.
Here is there number in case you want to call them direct. Call (479) 890 3007(I spoke with Sarah)
