Cool changing windshields ? much to on S/G's

Is there much to changing the windshield on the street Glide? Any trick I should know before I start or is it as simple as it looks?

Just the three bolts on the front of the fairing...nothing tricky.

Put a cover on the front fender in case you drop one!

I went with the same on my 09 for the winter. I'm 6 feet even and it works just fine for me.

I can vouch for the Klockwerks windshield - looks awesome and works great for getting the buffeting off your head.

Pull the three screw, slightly separate the batwing at the top seam and pop it out. The windshield fits over some short posts at each of the screw positions inside the fairing. Once you do it you'll get the hang of it.

Just make sure you get it back in there and over the posts before cranking the screws back down. You don't want to pinch/crack anything.

The toughest part is being sure not to scratch the paint - take your time and make sure your torx driver is seated fully.

Sorry, my sig doesn't show the new windshield on my bike.

I had a 9" Memphis Shades gradient tint that I loved. When I traded in my SG I kept it for the Ultra, I plan on putting it on once spring is here and it warms up a little.

IF you use "LOCK TIGHT"...and I think you should, on the treads of the screws make DAM sure that you use the one that can be removed. IF you use the permanut one you will strip the nuts out of the plastic on the fairing for thwe next change. Other then that its nothing.

Be aware that some types of plastic will crack if exposed to Locktite's carrier fluids, and the plastic doesn't even need to touch the fluid. Just being in the vicinity can cause problems, and this issue is documented on the Loctite site.
