There is no better thing in the world than black with chrome. We've all heard for years that black is hardest to keep clean, but the best looking color when it is. I am on my second black bike and would never entertain the thought of another color. When I went to buy my 2009 Street Glide, pretty much all the colors were right in a row. I noticed the black one first and kept going back to it, so I bought the vivid black.
And as others have said it's the fastest color.......................
My Ultra Classic is black and I wouldn't have it any other way. There's nothing like black and chrome!
On the other hand, you'll go nuts trying to keep dust from accumulating on black paint. All you can do is keep a good coat of wax on the bike. Between wax jobs, use a mist detailer like Mother's or Meguiar's and a microfiber cloth. Just remember...to prevent paint swirls, never dry wipe black paint.
To cut down on swirl marks, apply wax in the same direction that the paint was
sprayed on and buff out the same way. Don't use circular motions.I know it may
sound crazy but I was told this by a professional detailer, and my 06 Vivid Blk
RK still looks like new after a cleaning, and yes,my wife thinks I'am NUTZ.
Look at it this way Beary.... All bikes get dirty the same. You just see it better on a black bike. So, on a light color, it may NOT look dirty, but in reality you are
riding a Dirty bike. Black just tells the TRUTH... You see it and should clean it.....Now what does it all mean...... With Black, you should have an overall cleaner bike, throughout its life. That means a more serviceable bike and ONE OTHER BIG THING... A black bike has a better re-sale..... Oh Yeah, Black is Faster ......
Its a no brainer Beary....... Imho..... Its the ONLY color Harley makes....hdman
