Anyone change to Harley Beach Bars? I was told you didn't need to extend any wires. Anyone have information about this?
I have swapped to the 'Wild 1's Beach Bars.
I did NOT have to extend the wiring harness, but it is a snug fit. I also test fitted a set H-D Beach Bars that I have hanging in the garage and I think they are actually about a 1/2" shorter - so the wiring should be fine on those too.
Before you go & make a purchase check-out the beach bars from Wild 1...
they are a bit smoother, and look a lot closer to the 'traditional' baech bars than th H-D offerings do...
watch you don't impale yourself in a tight turn in a parking lot. i have witnessed more than one person nearly push themselves off the bike with the bars.
Good advice from everyone...Huff is right. You'll need to 'practice' these turns after you change them out....beautiful look though.
BTW, when I bought my RKC it had BB's installed on it. The previous owner didn't change out the cables and because they were tight they tended to rub on the top of the tank (next to the gas cap) and eventually rubbed a hole in the clear coat. Even if the tech's don't recommend longer cables think about whether they'll touch the tank on slow, right-hand turns. Buying +2" cables may save some heartache later.
Jumpman... beautiful bike... do you have any other pictures you can post that are "overall" shots. I am interested to see how the beach bars look with your hard lowers.
Take a look at the the wild 1: 518's Chubby RK II Bars.
Pretty close look to the Beach Bars, I found the 518's end rise and pullback more comfortable, just a couple inches difference is surprising. Depends on your own height and reach too.
I did install 2" longer cables, but didn't need to extend any wiring, just freed up a little slack from inside the nacelle clips.
Had beachbars on my ol' RKC. Had to buy HD diamondback extension cables to ensure all's well when riding and making turns preventing any rubbing towards to the bike's body. Would recommend this to anybody cuz it was very comfortable in handling the bike for a big man like me.
I have White Brother's beachs. I had to add 6-8 inches of wiring. I guess you might stretch the wires enough to put the bars on if you left the wires outside the bars, which would look like crap, IMO.

Thanks!
Thanks.
