On all the bikes I have had with windshields I always used whatever wax that I used on the bike OR Pledge and either a flannel cloth or a micro fiber.
Always worked great and that's one less specialty item that I have to buy.
If there are a lot of bugs i take a regular hand towel and soak it in warm water and drape it onn the shield and leave it there for a while...10 minutes or so....Then a microfiber cloth and invisible glass or stoner glass cleaner....Heard a lot of good stuff about plexus also...NEVER use paper towels....
