Years ago i rode from michigan to nashville one day then the next day we rode to Gattlinburg then over the mountain to cherokee. Damn that was fun. At the time I had a kawasaki voyager VII... Id like to make that same ride again only on the glide classic
Beautiful ride, we did that whole area, (Ashville, The Dragon, Marrysville, Gatlinburg, The Smokeys park, Wheels through time, Some of the BRP ect...) back in 05'. It was an awsome trip. Have fun, and enjoy the ride.
Rode Sat. morning from the suburbs of Chattanooga,TN east along the Ocoee river,
through Murphy,NC, on over to Cherokee NC.Then up into the Smokies, down the mountain
through Townsend,TN and then home.A little bit of a cool start but then temps went
into the low 70's & sunny.Couldn't have asked for a nicer day.Man I'm glad I live in
east TN with all this great riding around me.
Sounds Great! I had a terrific ride today too, Asheville to Maggie Valley to Cherokee via Hwy 19. Then to Fontanna via hwy 74 and 28. If you haven't ridden 28 from Fontanna to Deals Gap it's a great ride, follows the Little Tennessee River all the way.
I love that part of the world. I grew up in Madisonville, and worked at the Army Ammunition Plant in Chattanoga before the Army got me in 68. I go quite often to visit the family. I do plan on spending part of the summer there this yr, don't know if the bike will make the trip this time. If at all possible I will get some TN ride time this yr.
