Those with a smoke or grey Clearview windshield. Is the tint too dark to see through at night or in overcast/rainy weather? Trying to decide before I order.

I just received my tinted Clearview with re-curve and it does not appear to be anywhere to dark to see though at night or day. However being it came the week after my accident I have not had time to try it out yet, but looking forward to it.
Guys, I'm getting ready to order a Clearview recurve as well. The HD 12" windshield cut down about an inch and a half is perfect for me.
What size recurve should I order?
I went from the stock HD 12 incher, to a 9.5 inch clearview. I can easily see over the top of it, and the light smoke is not an issue at nite whatsoever.
That's the kind of info I'm looking for. I will be ordering the height to look over but want to be able to see behind shield if needed. Clearview's site does not offer a light tint that I can find. Gonna shoot an email to them and get their take. Anyone else?

Give Clearview a call. I called when I was looking for my shield to ask questions about their 'blems' and they were very helpful and informative.
I have the 9.5 dark grey on my ultra, the grey goes better imho, with the copper top 105th anniversary color. I'm 5'10" and easily see over it. It's better than the 8" for my passenger and you can see fine through the screen if you have to look down towards your front tire. You can also see okay at night through it, imho.
I contacted Clearview with my tint question and they replied that the smoke tint is easier to see through than the dark grey. Guess that's what I will go with. Hope that helps someone else.

BUT there will be times (depending upon the angle of the road and hills) when you are forced to look through it, some times for minutes at a time. Do you want to be doing that at night? Best to get one you can see through at night.
at one time or another we've all (actual riders) rode for a bit with our shades on after the light had failed. Applying RODEO logic we should all toss our shades and buy clear sunglasses (is that an oximoron?) just in case we get caught when the light fails and it isn't convient to pull over? Nope don't think so. Make your purcahse decision on the 95% of your real world expectancy, not the odd 5%. If it get's too dark when it's raining, pull the hell over!
I went with the light gray and stock height for my RKC. I will be installing it soon and will post pics. I like the stock height but wanted to have less helmet turbuence. This should work great with the recurve.
BTW - everyone looks through their shield at some point. I ride at night a lot and did not want to have the shield too dark.
