yesterday i just found that one of my fobs didn't work.was just wondering if this has happen to any of you or not.bike was new in dec so could it be the battery or do you think the fob is junk.haven't been to the dealer yet but was wondering what a process it is to get a new one and how long it takes.
mine quit working when I forgot to pull it out of the ignition lock before I took off, and the cage behind me hit it when it landed in the middle of the road. Does that count?

like someone else suggested, try replacing the battery. the bike may have been new in dec, but who knows how long that battery was in the key fob before security was installed. if it doesn't work then, go back to the dealer.
however, mine is almost 3 years old, and still going on the original battery. if it gets to the point where it stops working, then i'll use the code and replace the battery. i can't see buying a battery to have sit on the shelf until this one goes **** up. rather buy a fresh one.
battery should last over a year, it happened to me, i took the battery out and put it back in, worked since then, but i bought a battery and keep it in the bag just in case...

Same here, lights were flashing when I went to start the bike, grabbed fob#2 and went riding when I got back I pulled the battery out of fob #1 reinstalled it and now it works...weird, another HD quirk
Mine did the same,, I def think its a flaw in the fob, the battery working its way loose enough to brea contact. I just opened mine removed and reinstalled and off I went.
