I hit the tripmeter on the speedometer the other day and it will not go to the B mode or back to the odometer... Anyone ever have this happen?? If so what did you do to fix the problem... Do not want to take it to the stealer and pay the $82.00 hour labor to have them tell me it does not work,,,,,, All help greatly appreciated...
i had a similar problem with my tripmeter/speedometer. sometimes it wouldn't register a push, or it would register a push and hold, going into diagnostic mode, or it would register as a double push and go from total mileage, skip through trip a, and end on trip b..... pain in the ****...
my bike was still under warranty so i took it back to the dealer. turned out to be that little button on the console. cheap part, easy fix. took about 15 minutes to swap it out. it is not integral to the speedometer, i thought it was....
Thanks skratch, Hooah........ Anybody know if this can be replaced at the front of the switch or do I have to remove the front fairing to get to the rear of the switch... ??? Must just be a wire plug in I would guess...
Same thing was happening on my 08 EG Classic, sometimes it would work, sometimes it would get stuck in the "A" or "B" mode or "miles to empty", this was actually happening quite often still under warranty said to myself "Ill have to go back to dealer, why should I fix it"! Then when I gassed up the other day went to hit the reset and the rubber boot and nut was gone assembly fell into fairing, but I could almost pull it out! Got an idea and walked across street to Drug Store gas staion bought a pair of twessers, pulled out switch assembly and tie wrapped it. Went to dealer next day and he put on a new rubber boot and nut, dont know if he had to take off fairing as he didnt replace the whole switch Ill have to ask him!! They were having an open house free food and I won a set of Hog Tunes Speakers and tweeter Set so all in all a bad start turned out to be my Lucky Day!!!! LOL (My 2 cents), Ride Safe...... Bill
