If you don't mind some minor blemishes, check out their inventory of factory seconds. They will be structurally as good as first quality and you can save a couple of bucks. I haven't gotten one myself yet but I have seen some posts on this site in the past from people who have and they said most of the time the blemishes aren't that bad. Best of all they are in stock and ready to ship.

These shields are worth the money, the HD shields don't even compare. I was so impressed I ordered the 4.5 last night.
How tall are you i was thinking of ordering one and i like how the 8.5 looks im just curious if it would work for me im 6,2

I am 6' 1" and have a 9.5 clearview and it is perfect. I would not go any shorter than that. On occasion I can feel the buffeting on the top of my helmet, but not too bad. They are a great shield and mine really cleans up well with no scratches visible.
Just my 2 cents...

At least they tell you that up front. It did take a good 4 weeks, but I had 3 other shields already so the wait didn't bother me too much.

I'm 5'10" and my seat has been cut down by 1" the 8.5 is perfect for me when I'm on long trips. Day trips I usually put the 4" on.

The optimal height of the shield will vary depending on several factors. Not only by your height and the type of bike, but also by the style seat and the way your body is when in your riding position.
One recommended way is to place a mark 50ft in front of the bike. While seated on the bike in your riding position you should see that 50ft mark just over the top edge of the shield. If not mark off how many inches higher or lower the shield needs to be for that to happen.

If you are thinking of changing your seat or adding any type of seat pad, gel pad, sheepskin cover. These things make a big difference on what height shield will be best.I would make those changes before investing in the shield.
I found this out myself. I just got my first Bagger last year, a RKC with the stock shield. After just a couple rides I new the shield was to tall for me and I was planning on cutting it to size. I also wanted to get the Tallboy seat because I'm 6'4". Luckly I got the seat first. It raised me up an 1 1/2" and the shield ended up the perfect height without me cutting it. If I did it the other way around, which I almost did, I would have screwed up big time.
Sorry to ramble on, I just thought this might be helpful.

I have a 8" recurve "minor blem" being delivered next Tuesday. I'm just under 6'0" and sit on a solo brawler. I will let everyone know next week what I think of it.

Very pleased with my 9-1/2" recurve. Much better than the other 3 shields I've used. Great fabrication and not prone to scratches, I recommend using "foaming glass cleaner" as was advised by a tinting shop. I use Simoniz brand but assume any will do just fine, only clean with fibercloth. Wouldn't trade the shield for any other.

I got a Clearview for my Road Glide. +2 w/ recurve. Called John and he found me a blem. 20% off, no wait had it in 4 days from Colorado to Virginia. Held it up to the light, could NOT see anything wrong with it. Their blems, when available have very little if anything wrong are 20% or MORE OFF and carry the same warranty as new and NO WAIT! This is the best shield for me and I have tried 3 to date. See over it well and solid construction, excellent vision when you need to look through , like acsending a long hill.
