Default Angle Iron One, Electra Glide, ZERO

Driving to work today. First day back after two weeks on the road with over 4000 miles logged on the ole girl. This morning a mile away from work on a 3 laner at 75mph, a tractor trailer spits out a 4' peice of 3" angle iron. I hit it, blown rear tire and busted rim. Very violent experiance. But i'm still here. Two wheels on the ground. 700 dollars poorer, but still here

The trucker should be reimbursing you for his unsecured load.

Nice job on keeping your cool and probably saving your own life.

Glad to hear you're OK and that you and the "Old Girl" will ride-on.

I imagine your first and only concern at the time was surviving, not what's his plate number. glad you survived to tell the tail.

Great job keeping it on two wheels. Anything "tied" to a vehicle scares the heck out of me. I've seen hand trucks, ladders and small boats fly off without warning. I always assume anything secured to a car or truck is seconds away from going airborne and I get far away. Glad you're ok.

My buddy and I use some of our diving hand signals while riding. If the rider out front spots something potentially dangerous like a crappy looking load on a truck, a mattress tied to a cartop, deer off to the side of the road, etc, the signal is an extended arm with a fist pointed at the object.
