It takes about 10 minutes to change a speedo sensor on an Eglide. I had the same problems on my 05 EGC. The dealer changed 2 sensors and a speedo. The problem was solved when I did a paint job on the inner fairing. There was a loose ground wire on the upper triple tree. I tightened it up and haven't had a problem since.

i will have to look for that wire now, your not the first one to mention it.

i did check for debris (shavings) on the sensor and there was non. mine does it when it warms up
Yep, mine did the same thing, never could figure that out. All I can say is I had the problem intermittently for the first 2 years I owned the bike and now it's been problem free for the last 2 years after I tightened the ground.

the only ground i saw was 2 wires attached under a screw on the left side up 3 tree and 1 wire attached to the 3 tree on the right side.
the thing its doing now is after it warms up the idle drops down to about 500 and then comes up to normal. after sitting in the garage running i can really smell gas coming outa the exhaust. i cleared the codes on the speedo and even after the bike warmed up and didnt run right, it didnt throw a code this time.
