We got the bike back last night. The dealer replaced the voltage regulator and the CB module and recharged the battery. They said everything should be fine now. We road for a while last night and so far so good.
Good luck to you. I hope they got it fixed. I love my Ultra, but if I had the problems you've had, it would take a while to get past being worried every time I left on the bike. Once you get past this, I think you'll love yours too. As you said,"This too shall pass".
I have an 08 Ultra(my first HD)love it,after about 15000 miles no problems,also have 05 V-Star with a little over 15000 miles,bikes been in the shop 4 times for the same electrical problem-people say the ricers are more reliable I will disagree with them,will never buy another make besides an HD.Just my .02.Get your 09 fixed and enjoy the ride.Wish you the best.
Don't contact the dealer or Corporate any more you need to contact your local Better Business Bureau and file a formal complaint under your states Lemon Law. This is free and you will not need a lawyer for this. Anything HD says to you or vise-versa is hearsay. They (the BBB) will contact HD (acting as your legal middle man) and set up an arbitration session and redress any complaints . This always works! I have lemon lawed two consecutive cars like this. HD has to by federal law attend the hearing or officially address the complaint which is admissible in court as sworn statements.

I thought you HOG membership would pay for the towing.
The HOG membership will pay the first $100 only. We didn't even know about the membership until after the tow happened so we hadn't upgraded to the unlimited towing option. Now that we know, we have upgraded just in case.

I bought my bike about 3 months ago, I had some problems with it. I took it back they said it was fixed, however when I rode it, I found that it was not. I TOOK IT BACK, PARKED IT IN FRONT OF THE ENTRANCE, WENT IN AND GOT THE GM, GAVE HIM THE KEYS AND TOLD HIM I WAS RETURNING THE PIECE OF ****. The GM was hot and asked me what had happened, when I told him he went into the dealer screaming at the top of his lungs and called his sales staff and service people into the show room, gave them a good verbal *** kicking, he then asked me to let him take care of the problem, 5 mins later he gave me keys to a new bike...
If I was you I would go to the GM and tell him to take it back, either give you a different bike, if he doesn't then just walk away and then call your finace company and tell them what happened. I guarantee you they will take care of it then. You should not have to pay for a piece of ****, and thats what they gave you... I know how you feel because now all of your Joy and excitement is gone. GIVE IT BACK!!!!
I have direct home numbers to the owners of the HD dealership that I bought my bikes from (got there numbers when they called to make sure I was happy with their services when I took in a bike for a blown exhaust gasket). When I brought in a bike to have some electrical items installed with parts bought elsewhere, the dealership waited a week before installing them. I called the owner and he gave me credit for my next service charges equal to what I paid for the installation. It pays to know the owners.
