Here in australia we get Harley Assist which pays for towing when your lemon, sorry, Harley breaks down. I assume you have the same thing there in the US. Only a sucker would pay that towing bill.
Can you give us some detail on whats wrong with the bike?
Start making detailed records (if you havent already) about the bikes problems. include dates, times etc. USA has good lemon laws so you definitely have rights if your bike is grossly defective.
I've had 2 problems with mine '08 egc 1. the fuel recall left me sittin on the side of the road and 2. ids bearing. The dealer I bought the bike from sent a covered trailer out and picked up the bike both time I am over an hour away from them and they fixed it right up for me so hang in there when you find a good dealer stick with them. The dealer is Gruene Harley in New Braunfels TX and they have been really good to me and everyone that has had there bike in for service that I have talked to really likes them and has only good things to say about them I got lucky and found a good dealer. Good luck and hope they have it fixed for ya and once you start riding you will not want to ride anything else. I really really like my egc.
Laugermans is a great dealership. Lancaster Harley is another. Regardless of the outcome, (I'm sure you'll be satisfied with the outcome), I'd make sure the manager and owner, at the original dealership, understood they have seen the last of me and my money. Even if you were "heated" when you approached her, she had no business blowing you off with an "I don't care attitude". That is not the way the factory wants their dealers representing them.
Now I am confused, if the bike is at the dealer and they are working to take care of the problem. Or in your words "No one seems to want to take responsibility for a lemon!" What is your gripe. Hate the guys that just love to here themselves b$%$h
Sound like you should never bought a Harley if you where so enamored with GW.
SG and RK No problems.
What is it with all the ********* in this thread...are you guys always ******** or just on days that end with a Y.
If ANY of you ********* bought a brand new HD and it broke down this much and was in the shop this many times in the first few weeks you would ALL be pissing and moaning too.
So quit being a bunch of ******** towards the guy for crying out loud.

Just bought my 07 UC with every chrome option, race tune, true duals, V&H Ovals, Mustang seat, Hog Tunes and a Bushtec Roadstar trailer and a garage full of goodies all with less than 6000 miles for $18,800 from a private owner (ne lovingly maintained). Bike is just broken in and running hot, str8 and normal. I'll never go back to rice. And I would never buy a first year series of anything that's mechanical. No matter how shiny it is. Get your money back and buy a low mile, late model Harley.
