If it wasn't for hot great the harleys ride, how great tehy sound or how hot looking they are I would have bought a GW long time ago. I think the HD engineering and reliability still is not where it should be. But the bikes are a blast to ride so we put up with expensive maintenance ( I do my own ), having to tighten a lot of bolts and nuissances once in a while. I have had my UC 08 for a year and have had a couple of minor things so so far it has been worth it. I think once the dealer works out the bugs you are facing you will end up loving your bike. Good luck.

They say they are fixing it. This is the second time in 3 weeks. Suppose to be ready on Friday evening now.

Corporate just called and they agreed to pay the tow bill. Now we just have to pray the bike is fixed properly.

Look for another dealer if this one doesn't work out. Some are better than others. unfortunately the bad ones can be pretty bad at times. If not too inconvenient, go elsewhere.

Wishing you my best. Only few minor problems with my Ultra...Nothing like yours or others stated. I would be pissed too.

Ride safe,

Thorey

Sorry to hear about your problems. I rode a Gold Wing for 12 years & in 2004 sold it & purchased a 2004 Ultra. In September I traded it in for a 2009 Ultra and haven't had any problems at all. Also, I believe as a National HOG Member which your dealer should have submitted the paperwork you get 1 free tow from Road America. Since you had to pay, if you saved the receipt you may be able to get some of your money back from Road America if the dealer doesn't cover it under warranty. Their number is: 1-888-443-5896. You will need your HOG membership number (which you can get from HD by calling them). It's worth a try. Good luck. BTW I think the ultra is a lot more fun than the Gold Wing. I'm not going back.
