I was at the bank today and i saw this guy had on a trailer a road king.I noticed the motor on the Road King looked very different so i asked the guy what was his horses and torque? He said," 150 horsespower and 140 something torque",wow.
He said that he got the motor from some place down in north carolina.Soi i got to thinking and thus i wanted to put this on the forum and ask when is a harley no longer a harley anymore to some of you in cases like this were the motor is completely replaced?
Also, my SG is stock, (except for the pipes) and I blew by my buddies Yamaha V4 1800, so why do you need all that power? Mine has enough.
Yamaha's v4 is a 1300. There is no way you are blowing by the Yamaha 1900 that is in the Raider and Roadliner/Stratoliner. I have an 07 Glide and have ridden the Yamaha and it is much faster. So is the Honda 1800. The v4 yamaha is what convinced me to get my electraglide. The Yamaha is heavy and lacks power.
We had two Raiders at our local dyno drags with typical stage one mods and neither was impressive. I think one put down high 70's and the other mid 80's in the HP area.
Truth is, no matter what it looks like or what's been done to it, if the title says it's a Harley, well, it's a Harley. If the title says something besides Harley, well, it just ain't!

That's like saying you changed the Wheels on your Harley so it's not a Harley anymore???
I put the Jims 120 in my bike....but the fact remains that my bike still has a Harley frame and VIN and is registered and insured as a Harley.....be cause it is one. Regardless of what I do to my bike as long as I keep the original frame it will still be considered a Harley.
