Ok,
So the question is this. Since 2 of you have had the problem did you use dielectric grease? By your comments it looks like you only applied it after the problem? Dielectric grease should be used on any electrical connection to prevent water/corrosion.
On another note as this happened twice how about informing us how/direction you had the connectors positioned? This could be something from the way it is located.

Thanks for the info. As I am preparing to install my PCIII next week after the 1k service I could use the information.

When my tuner @ the dealer dyno'd the bike , he asked if it was ok to reposition the connectors because of water issues he had experienced in the past when mounting them under the battery box, he tied them out beside the PClll under the right cover, I had the left turn signal blinking on it's own after washing my bike this past week, I usually refrain from drowning any part of the bike with a heavy spray but I must have gotten water under the right handle bar housing, the problem went away after it dried out, I am heading to Americade 2006 shortly and I think I will add the dielectric grease to the PC connectors as an added precaution though....

Hey thanks Nite....
Thats exactly what I was thinking was how the connector was positioned. Being semi flat like that could cause some puddling. Being Vertical like your saying is always better easier for any fluid to drain... But Im thinking under the battery case is more exposed then setting up next to the PCIII. Of course you can never go wrong with dielectric grease. Have fun at Americade..... I go to Loudon area and not to town but ride for a couple days there and then head over to Lake George. We get some real nice riding up there since everyone is gone..... Ohhhh of course have to go to Duffy's for food, drinks and everything else.
