i unplugged the pcv and plugged it back in the normal way bypassing the the pcv and it still did it. it does it sometimes both ways. the one dealer where it is at said that the pcv might have messed up the ecm, not sure how that is possible. it doesn't do it all the time
That's BS and don't let them throw that line of crap at you. I've never heard of a PC trashing or even crippling an ECM, and don't see how it could even happen given the way the PC works downstream of the ECM. It sends no signals to the ECM, but alters those received and sends them along. I would still look for a bent pin on that main connector, as this has been an issue a few times in the past.
My buddy is going through the same thing and he has the Harley tuner. I would take the pcv and go to another dealer and not say anything. It's not the pcv.
This happened to me on the way to big bend with no PC-V. The bike recovered and has not done it again. I have been about 2000 miles since I had the problem. I was riding at 85 or so in west Texas and my speed dropped to 40 or 50 and no throttle. It worried the hell out of me but I thought maybe bad gas? Of course the local dealers had never heard of the prblem with the 09 FLHX. I dont think it is your PC, I agree with 1click.

We have seen a few bikes that have had drive by wire throttle issues that have been a result of a throttle body related issue. This is NOT a Power Commander issue and the PC will in NOT cause an ECM problem. I would start by checking for historic trouble codes using the procedure outlined here www.fuelmotousa.com/harleycodes
thats what i'm afraid is going to happen.dealer is going to to say pcv caused ecm to go bad so it's not covered under warranty. the dealer where it is at hates anything but harley products.but they are a really good dealer besides that.
magnuson moss warranty act of 1979 says that they have to prove that an after market part caused the problem. So if they want to waste their time and money trying to prove something thats not true, let them, and then they will still fix it under warranty.
they finally figured out what was wrong. we'll see! they said the throttle acuater is bad . of course u have to change the whole induction module, aka the 50mm throttle body, because it comes as 1 assembly.part was even restricted yet according to dealer. they ordered it directly from milwaukee. they also told me that they would not warranty it again because i have pcv. they think that caused the failure, but not sure. wonder what that part cost.
