Hey guys, So I've seen your pictures of painted inner fairings and decided to stop by the body shop tonight. I was told $200 to paint the inner fairing to match the rest of the bike. Decided I am going to do it but...I havent heard anyone talk about the glare from a shinny high gloss paint so I was woundering if you guys with gloss would have rather shot a satin clearcoat? I had a chrome dash on my softail and you could feel the heat from the sun on your face.
my only concern with the painted fairing is glare, a satin finish would not be as bright. Was thinking about doing it as well.
since your bike is black...it already has a matt black dash, why would you spend the $$ getting it painted a flat black? wouldn't that be a waste of money?
I think the gloss colors to match the bike's paint looks great, gives it a "custom" look.
Just my .02

Mine has started to fade, it has a few gray spots on the glove boxes. Normally I would not even concern myself with painting or not, but it is starting to look like crap.
Thanks for all of your input guys, Gloss it is!......... donations are glady accepted, seems I've spent to much on chrome cuz the bank is empty......does it ever end?
