Good Grief if you are so freakin **** why didn't you check it out properly before picking it up.
If you are so freaked out out about such a small thing whats going to happen the first time you catch a rock or bug or sand or a chunk of tire or rain or hail or a loose lawn chair on the road, you going to have a coronary or something.
You are the reason I don't work in retail any more, people are freakin nutt's these days.
You're a Harley rider GROW a pair!!!!!!!!!

Should have never left the dealer before them fixing the problem.

Probably the best answer to date.
I keep wondering, what was the poster's understanding when he left with the bike? That was the time to have a meeting of the minds. If he expected the dealer to fly/drive out to his place to fix the bike that should have been brought up at the time and confirmed. The dealer may have assumed "since he found his way here to buy it, he'll find his way back to have it serviced", and again, that should've been brought up. If the poster assumed a local dealer would fix something that was part of another dealer's (the seller's) responsibility, that would've been worth a phone call prior to leaving also.

You guys are freakin' funny. Man, I understand your frustration. You get something you been waiting for and something happens to screw it up. Hope it works out for you. Better head out on that long ride, before it gets to cold and get it fixed up.

Ya know, reading a thread such as this makes me so thankful that a few scratches more of less on my bike doesn't ruin my life. ------------- U n b e l i e v e a b l e !

Good Luck!"

Nice comment. Pretty broad brush you use there. I am sure with your critical thinking you would have flown out same day to fix, HUH?
Didn't realize you would take the chimp remark so personally...that explains alot....

My bike was less than a month old when I got hit by a large rock that marked up my fairing. If you ride it, it will get scratched. I'd advise you to loosen up and wear it out.

You do know the fuel gauge is going to fill up with condensation after your first wash right ?

If you're expecting perfect you bought the wrong machine.

Default Working a little overtime

Been working over a little ,
This is the reason I havent posted back yet .
Ok heres the deal , first off there were no 09 Street Glides closer to me than this dealer was .
2nd I was up late and therefor did not get a lot of sleep .
I no its just a bike , hhmm, or is it ,
Why is it everything I here on here abought everyones bike sounds like its practicaly the luv of there life ??? LOL..
I did take a good look at the bike while it was in the service bay .
The SG looked great and I did NOT notice anything wrong with it , believe me I,ve done autobody work for years ,,
No smart *** comments please .
The 2 or 3 small sratches are located on the very lower bottom of the fender extention ,
And to answer a few of your questions the scratches are deep enouph to see and catch your fingernail on , therer abought 1/4 or so long each .
After I loaded it on the trailer while the sales manager was standing there I noticed them ,
I imediatly pointed them out and he looked and said they were to deep to buff and the dender trim would be REPLACED and I can go to my local dealer to have the part changed out .
After calling him back a few days later I offered him to send the replacement piece to me and I would replace it myself .
He said I could not because it had to be done by an authorized dealer .
I bought my last bike from my local dealer (2007 LOW RIDER brand new )
I did not buy this new STREET GLIDE from them do to them not having one .
Also they never even offered to find me an 09SG until I had found 4 to choose from a week later on my own ,

I dont have a problem riding my new SG at all , but why should I put 700 miles on my new bike pay $$?? for gas and ???$$$ for a hotel room for him .
His exact words were it would be replaced and by any authorized HD dealer I wanted .
Last week while in my local dealer I was telling the sales gut I was looking for some ad ons for my new SG , The owner was there and never even said hellow '
I asume he was mad that I dint buy from him .
Anyone thing he would get me right in and change out the new replacement part and put another buyer on the back burner ?? I dont think so .

Were all bikers here and some treasure there ride WAY MORE than others and I dont have a problem with that .
If any of you guys a any problem with your new ride and the dealer said it would be taken care of at NO cost to you and then re****ed , YOU would be Pi$$ed to .

Yes I belive you should stand by your word ..

I also thought of living with it since its so minute and yes there will be other scratches hopefully later then sooner .
But why should I eat the expence ??
I was thinking the same deal .
I would settle for something in return ,, like ??? Pegs for the highway bars or ??
They have been in biusness long enough to no it would have to be change by them, So why didnt he tell me ..
And why is it he keeps saying its warranty dept .problem ??

I no most of you are trying to humor me and I appreciate it ,

Heck ya....The first thing I do right after I hand over a $23,000 check to the dealer is walk out and kick that frigin bike over on it's right side then I pick it up and let her fall on her left. Who gives a rats a$$ what it looks like or how the dealer walks all over you with lies.

Good Luck
