I rented an 07 RKC and was very comfortable with the handle bars on it. I believe they were stock. I just got an 08RKC FLHRC and somehow felt a difference between the 2 bikes. The 07 was much more comfy, I was sitting backwards, while the 08 makes me lean to the front. Is there a difference between the 2?
Can't answer the 07 vs 08 question. Can tell you there are tons of threads in here about changing the 08 bars that seem to pull you forward over the tank. I put on the Wild 1's for RKC's, many on here love the inexpensive HD Heritage bar for Road King's.
Search the threads.....the bar options are many! You will probably want to join the ranks of changeover owners!
Not sure if the bars are different but the bikes are. O8 has a the new 6 gallon tank. That might have something to do with it.
Have you adjusted them? The difference could be as simple as an adjustment.
As IndyClassic said, I went with the cheap heritage style bars. Perfect fit as far as cables and throttle by wire go and have been a lifesaver on my back.
I've always had really good luck with the service department at HD Brandon, Fl. I checked yesterday to see about putting Heaitage bars on my 08 Road King. They said it was 5 hours labor and a change of cables. I nearly fell off the workbench. What's up with these dealers?
