Default ROAD GLIDE Part# Choices

I have a 08 RG and need to get some pull back. I read about the Heritage bars which is part# 56623-99.
I also see some bars on the HD site numbered 56570-98 that are made for the RG. Will both of these bars work on a 08 model with the new dbw throttle?

Will i need to modify eitherbar etc.. and if so what will I need to do. I just would like to have some similar to stock but with some pull back.

from what I can tell the difference in bars are just width mainly? I just prefer not to spend so muchon the wild1's bars, and maybe even find a used HD set since I am going to powdercoat them anyway.

The 08 Police Bars are your answer. All set up for FBW and have more pull back. I now see you found my thread with all the info and pics. Good Luck.

Check out Kromewerks 300504 bars. I tried the WG, Heritage, and HD RG pullback bar first and the KW bars were by for the best. If you don't want to wait till May, when the new 300514 bars come out ready for the 08's, you can modify the 300504 bars. I just did it last weekend to my buddys 08 anniv RG and its real easy if you have a Dremmel. Most places tell you to cut off 1/2" on right bar, about 3/8" works better on KW bars. It keeps the throttle tube from hitting the dimple on these bars. then use some masking tape as a template from your bars to the ones you want to modify and get after it with Dremmel. This really is easy.

But if you want to wait, I talked to KW last week and they told the new bars were in productionand would be out first of May. And you have to call them to order. Cheap too.

part number 56623-99 are the heritage bars same as on police bike. I have them on my RG and they will installwith no cable changes. You have to take a very small amount of bend out of brake line at top easy to do.

MIKEBOZTX - Were you able to use the stock cables when you installed the Khrome Werks bar?

mikeboztx,
Your pictures look differ from website. Yours almost look kinda like drag bars from side view, they are growing on me fast. how much more pullbackdo you have from stock ?I need about 1 1/5 i think from stock bars

If you have more pictures to shareit would help

Nope....that part number above is not the Police handlebars

the FLHTP (police electra glide) bars are Part # 55924-97 (up to 2007)
The FLHP (police roadking) bars are Part # 56569-86 (up to 2007)

2008 bars for TBW
FLHTP...55924-08
FLHP....56902-08
