Basically *gently* clean the connectors, and apply a small amount of dialectric grease. Clear the codes and ride.

A good contact cleaner is LPS Micro-X Contact cleaner.

The idle is controlled by the ECM. It's a function of the engine temperature not the "fly-by wire".
