I could really use the instructions / tips. tvanover2129@wowway.com
I am in the middle of the project. I got the TBW thru but can't get the pins free from the molex style coupler. Do I need a tool? I tried p clips etc and can't find the magic spot to release them.

Got my bagger apes installed last week. I've done a couple of tall bar installs in the past but this was the most challenging by far. The instructions provided here helped but didn't tell the full story. The biggest problem (if you have TBW) is the green plug connection. If i had it to do over i would splice the wires and eliminate the plug. Anyone doing this project wanting further advice shoot me a message.

For the 12 in apes, i went with 8" over clutch and 6" over on the brake cable. I did reroute the brake cable out the same hole as the handlebars. I also orded the TBW extension but didn't need it. Also ordered the switch wire extension kit which saved me a lot of time. Although it may be possible to reroute the factory wiring (and eliminate the extensions) it was easier to just add the extension wires.

Here's a couple of pics. Overall, i'm very happy with the look and comfort of the bars.

I spoke to BR about his issue. The problem with the right side on these TBW bikes is the big green plug connector. With all the switch wires coming through the right side, there is just not a big enough opening in the bend to pull that big *** connector through. Most likely the connector will come loose if you try to pull it through. I shrink wrapped my connector and even tied some string across the connector and it still came loose. The only other option is to get the green plug down as close to the bend as possible and shove the remaining wire into the end along with the TBW assembly (which is what i did) or eliminate the plug. HD sells an SE TBW that eliminates the plug or you can just clip the plug and solder the wires together.

As Mr Hog stated I have had problems with the green plug but right now I have the tbw wire through. Its not connected to anything yet. This is my 3rd attempt and just cant get the switch wires past the corner with the tbw wires thru. Mt hog said he pulled both sets thru at the same time which I have not tried yet. I've greased them, sprayed them but get stuck and don't want to rip the wires apart.

Will try again Thurs or Fri.
