Screaming eagle throttle by wire harness. It relocates the "green plug" to the bottom of the bars. It's normally about 8" into the bar. It makes pulling wires over the sharp bend in MBBs much easier.

Thanks... I figured it had to with length or that thing. But I did know it had something to do with a difference HD does that we don't seem to know why... cuz putting that on all the bikes and not just SE would make things too easy I guess..LOL Oh wait... sure I do.. so we are urged to buy yet another item.

The SE also has wires for heated grips. Now why Harley wouldn't put the green plug at the bottom for both harnesses is the thing I don't understand. Maybe putting it higher means it is easier/less labor time to replace the TBW for the majority of touring bikes? Maybe Harley never thought anyone would want to do internal? Or maybe they really wanted to make things difficult so people would buy the SE TBW? Dunno. You can cut the green plug out and solder back together, thus not giving Harley more money. I just am not enough of a electrician or mechanic to trust soldering my throttle. Something about that just doesn't seem right.

It's pretty easy to pull the wires with the green plug on bars that don't have the radical bend like MBB, carlinis, burly, etc...You can pull it on the MBB, many have done it its just a huge PIA.

I have done quite a few internal wire set ups and have made several wiring extensions. Covered them all with shrink wrap and then coated them with vaseline. Ran a strand of 14 ga. Electric wire through first and attached my harness to it and pulled and pushed it through! Works pretty well but, nothing is completely effortless! Just plan on a few cold ones and take your time!

in the middle swaping out my inner fairing for painted one and instaling my 10" MBBs

one question...i shouldn't need wire extensions with the 10s, so do i have to remove the wires from all of nthe switches and take that whole thing apart or can i just pull the wires out of the connectors at the other end where they connect under the fairing and pull those ends down through the bars???

anyone have any last minute pointers?

ALSO...and can anyone tell me if my stock clutch and brake line will work with the 10" MBBs?

Leave the wires on your switches and pull from the top to the bottom. You shouldn't need to extend the brake. You may be able to reroute your clutch but I would go with a +2 clutch. I would change to braided lines so I would be changing the brake and the clutch. But I'm an all-in kind of guy.

SG Dave, your bars look great. I have the same windshield as you. Thanks for the picture I'm planning to add bars as well to my SG. Just did a stage 1 upgrade so saving my penny's for the bars.

I have read this entire thread and alot of others about this. But, my question is how long does it take from start to finish to get these bars on?

I was told by a mech that it is a 5 1/2 hours job. I think that is a little long..

Any help?
