Anyone installed one of these systems If so what can you tell me about It Is it as smiple as they say or to good to be true Any feed back will be great.
Just installed this weekend. The ECM wires are easy to get to, the TPS wires are tucked in pretty tight. Overall it was very straight forward and painless to install. Read the directions very carefully red-white white-red? It took me about an hour on a 06' Street Glide.
Put a couple hundred miles on and made a difference in idle, decel pop and smoothness of the engine.
If you go to the top of the page you will see a tab marked "Search." If you type in "Terminal Velocity II" (without the quotation marks) you will get a lot of threads on the Terminal Velocity II.
I installed the TV II on my 04 EG stock motor with Rinehart True Duals and Stage I air cleaner and got slightly better dyno results than had I done the same pipes and air cleaner and put on the Harley SE Race Tuner. A benefit of using the Rinehart True Duals is that the right side exhaust header already has the bung installed where the TVII sniffer screws into the pipe. Other pipes may require a hole to be drilled and the bung Mig welded to the pipe.
Lastly, if you go to Bub Enterprises website, and look at the installation instructions for the True Duals, they recommend two products for fuel management when their pipes are installed: the TVII and the PowerCommander. If you call Bub, you will find out that on their "mule" bikes for testing different pipes, they installed the TVII and have had great reliability and performance for a couple of years.
I am delighted with the TVII. Buy it from Direct Parts and pay about 20% or more off the MSRP. Buy your Rineharts from Eastern Performance Cycles, also, for best price and availability.
But do the Search and you will get a ton of information. HTH
I have rinehart 2-into-1 and a SE air cleaner. Rineharts have the O2 bung in them, which is a plus. Like Harleypingman said go to directparts for the TVII $405.00.
I have been using the TVII for a couple of months now, probably 5K in miles on it....It was a very straight forward install on my '06 Roadglide...Like mentioned above the hardest part is getting to the TPS wires. Take your time and READ READ and RE-READ the instructions as you go....I did wind up cheating and bought the Bub Cross Dresser II headers for the pre installed bung...No local dealer would weld and install the bung that comes with the TVII package, also the three mufffler shops I asked said they wouldn't either, so to save time and no running around asking I just got a set of headers with the bung already installed...Probably better job done anyway by Bub Enterprises.
The improvements were almost instant, once I had about 50 miles on the TVII the bike was noticably smoother and had slightly improved accelatoation and no stinking decel popping[sm=bounceybounce.gif]...
It hasn't really changed my MPG any but when I ride in the mountains (above 6000 ft above sealevel) and down around the house (900 ft above sealevel) there is no difference in performance...[sm=coolness.gif] The same smooth acceleration good stready power, no surging and just a blast to ride now. Had mine installed this morning and love it. Bike seams to run a lot better and by the seat of my *** it feels like it pulls a lot harder. But best of all I will have to wait and check but I think it will stop my scooter from running so lean.
Mine has been on about nine thousand miles on a 2006 street glide with s.e.air cleaner, bub true duals and screaming eagle mufflers. The lowest mileage I get is about 45 mpg and the best has been 54mpg depending on how hard I accelerate and I get which ever mileage I want to achieve.I diddyno anddownload with the screaming eagle program as the 02 sensor can only do so much.I would do it again, the engine runs cooler and very very strong for a stock engine.
