Just wondering if anyone else has come across a small leak from the primary of their 2008's? Mine is leaking a little bit, always looks like it is from the rear most lower bolt. I have tightened the drain plug and cranked down on the suspect bolt when the bike was nice and hot with a ball ended allen key as hard as I dare so as not to strip it but this annoying little leak still comes and goes with no rhyme or reason. Some times I don't see a drip for weeks on end. Thanks in advance for any advice.

Mine leaked at pretty much the same area.It ended up being at the base of the starter motor.
if you take something very light like a kleenex and wipe just below your derby cover, and you feel some drag on the primary cover there, your derby cover gasket might not be sealing completely. that's what i found on my 08 flhx and hopefully it's that simple a fix for you.
Mine had a small leak that *dripped* from there - Turned out to be the inner primary gasket. They fixed it under warranty and did all the clutchy-chainy adjustments while it was open (which made my 10k service a bit less hard on the wallet).
4-14-10 Update- Atlantic County HD replaced Inner primary seal, clutch cover gasket , primary cover gasket and the primary housing gasket all under warranty, 30 mile trip home and no drip but you know I will be watching the garage floor under the primary like a mental patient every time I go out to the garage.
Also, for in the future, overtight bolts can cause the gaskets to leak. If your going to snug up any bolts, follow the pattern and just do a once over on all of them from center bottom to center top, moving forward, then going backwards from the center.
But.. its a Harley, its supposed to leak! hehe.. JK. I work hard to keep mine from dripping. its too much of a pain to clean a bike covered in oil and road grime.
