Bama,

5 ozs is a lot of weight and you are probably correct. Dyna beads will tell you to leave the weights on your tire if it takes a large amount of weight to balance. They cannot compensate for that much. I would also get that rim checked out for tightness and truing of the spokes.

I actually left the weights on my tires with the dyna beads and it is smooth as glass.

i would move the tire 180 degrees on the wheel. that may cut the amount of weight needed. i would also balance the wheel first without the tire and tube. assemble then balance again.

UPDATE! ...I put 2 oz in rear tire and 1 oz. in front tire and rode the bike. Not exactly where I thought it should be..... Added one oz. to the front tire. ....Smooth a wet ice, and I'm a happy rider!

This is where I am running the beads (2oz. front, 2oz. rear). Just cut the bag and dump them in the unmounted tire before mounting it on the rim. Last go around I feed them through the valve stem, what a pain that is.

keep in mind when mounting the tire (if you do your own) not to get too sloppy with the tire mounting lube (ruglyde for me). The inside of the tire needs to be dry for them to work properly.
