Default Tire Replacement

'05 RKC.....had an accident back in 6/08 and during the rebuild process I replaced both tires - Dunlop 402 Series. Both tires now have 11,312 miles on them and the rear definitely needs to be replaced however the front still has a good bit of miles left on it. I've always been able to get more miles on the front than the rear tire.

Here's the question / poll: Do you replace both tires at the same time even though you may still have some life left on one of them or do you do staggered replacements based on when the tire NEEDS to be replaced?

Just curious as to what others do.

Thanks,
Brian

I never try to squeeze the last mile out of my tyres. It is far more important for me to ride on quality tyres in good condition. I roughly fit two front tyres to every three, but I don't use that as a hard rule.

No way. You should pretty much always get two rear tires to one front tire. I'm on my third rear tire and second front. I've had great luck with the stock 402's.

I have the stock front tire with the E3 back tire currently. Personally speaking, would only change both if you wanted a consistant look (i.e. both blackwall vs both whitewall).
