Anyone Get there iPod working and then try to add a Zumo 665?
Just bought 2012 CVO Streetglide. It had the iPod factory installed and working well. I am attempting to add a RT Zumo 665 to the bike and have ran into several issues that maybe someone can help with.
1.) the Zumo works excellent on the Aux input.
2.) the Zumo does not override any other function AM, FM, CD, WB, iPod, but works well on Aux as mentioned. NIM installed as follows.
3.) the CVO does not have a 6A or 6B anywhere to be found. Only an 8 pin for the iPod, which has the 8 pin connectors reversed per the diagram.
4.) The iPod and Zumo schematics are exactly the same for the harness. My harness would not fit anywhere, so I took it apart and soldered the connections to matching wires - seems everything is in parallel. That is BK/GN (gound), Y/V (can-), Y/O (can+), R/BE (Pin 4), BK/BE (pin 27) and R/O (Battery Power). All done.
5). When I connect the R/O wire, the ipod button disappears from the HK.
6.) What are the indications that the NIM is working properly?
Any insights or help s much appreciated! I know that this hookup can work.

Any luck with your fix? I was going to do the same wiring as you stated above (I haven't started yet).
I mounted my iPOD in the Saddle bag and just close the lid with the cable laying between the lid and the lower saddlebag. No problems so far and no holes.

Get one of these and forget about having to plug in your iPhone supports voice commands too and you can take phone calls, but they'll definitely know your on motorcycle unless you stop. http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B004KP...dir_mdp_mobile

Thanks, how did you mount it inside? and did you have to buy the longer wire to get it to reach in the saddlebag or were you able to use the one that comes with the interface?

Haha! Someone else that is having issues with the NIM install on a bike with an existing IPOD interface!! Not laughing at ya, i got frustrated with this just last week!
2010 FLHX that had the same kind of issues that I had done the IPOD intall on previously so I knew the wiring was good. Upon reviewing the wiring diagram on the 2 schematics (IPOD and NIM) i noticed that there were 2 wires of the 5 (I think it was 5) were reversed. I didnt think much of it since the IPOD module worked flawless. After going over connectors and checking pins, i figured what the hell, the NIM had a later revision date so I thought it would be worth a shot. Ends up after the wires were changed to match the NIM schematic, all was well. IPOD still works flawless and the NIM works as expected. I dont have any of the paperwork in front of me or I would let you know a little more detail of which color and number of pins were swapped but maybe this will help check another possibility.
