Piece of cake. The same cable for the saddle bag is easily long enough for the tourpac. All you need to do is remove the right hand side gromet and enlarge the hole (in the gromet not the tourpac!). The cable will pass through with no further mods. Then you can bring the cable up past the liner next to the 12v outlet without cutting the liner. I ended up buying the saddlebag mounting pouch and modifying it so it would mount on the two bolts that secure the passenger back rest. To do this I had to buy longer bolts and use a nut to secure the back rest and an additional bit to secure the pouch. I'll take some pictures and post when I have a chance.
Please bear in mind that my comments apply to all Harley cables, not after market, although these may also work.
Yes it will

Note that the original holes line up almost exactly with the backrest bolt spacing. You have to bend the metal rail of the pouch (there's a steel rail that slides in a pocket on each side of the pouch) on the right side in a little (dog leg) to ensure that the eye of the teather of the TourPac lid can freely rotate). I let the other side of the pouch just sit inside the TourPac - but I threaded a Velcro cable tie down strap "hooks down" and it catches the liner material really well. It's not necessary but it works.

Man talk about $$$$ just to control an IPOD. I priced the HD out about almost $500. I bought a complete radio with GPS and touch screen for my truck for $699. It came with an IPOD interface, blue-tooth to connect up to a phone (internet radio ready) and a flash card interface. Why should a IPOD interface be almost the same...
For that money I just bought a Road Tac with the mp3 player and Sirius radio. it was only $700 with cable to connect up to the radio.
