Thanks, yes, makes sense and as I thought. So, you don't need a special air pump like the one for the stock OEM shocks? What is the pressure range?
can you elaborate on the mounting modifications; photos perhaps?
Any air pump, from bicycle to gas station air compressor.. they opperate from 20min. - 200max psi and are designed to be used with an automotive grade compressor.
as far as the mounting mods, here are the only pics I have..
White shock in the center is the Monroe, see the elongated mounting point on the lower shock mount, that must be trimmed to the length of the other side (about 3/16" beyond the bushing)
Man, I don't want to be a killer here and I in no way want to put someone down for their ingenuity but does anyone remember the Draggin Baggers story. This guy was doing the same thing using corvette shocks and I for one was suckered into this saga. The shocks dampening was too stiff as it was designed for a car, not a motorcycle, the ride was very stiff. When letting air out to soften the ride the wheel would then bounce up into the fender and also took out some wiring harness for some people. The collapsed length of the shock was too short so if air was lost or pressure too low the shock would allow tire, fender and wire harness contact.
The rest of the story involved the compressor and solenoid he used. Very cheap quality, leaked and would stick and not work at all. Didn't take long for this guy to disappear with a lot of peoples money.
As I said I don't want to kill this set up but buyer beware. How far has all this been checked out and verified? By the way Draggin Baggers was out of California......
I feel ya man, but I am a little insulted that you would (only in part) compare me to that *** hole.. He was a f@ckin crook, all the way across the board..
Now, as previously mentioned (in post #8 on the first page) I have done research on the whole DB bull **** scam and learned a few things from it..
1. The people were SERIOUS duesch bags.
2. They used BONE STOCK shocks, right out of the box, no mods (that's why they hit)
3. They used cheap *** shitty components.
I, IN NO WAY am associated with those *** hats.. But thanks for asking.. Also, I'm not listing these for sale, I simply said my buddy has a wholesale/resale # (whatever it's called) and can get the parts at a good price if someone were interested in piecing together their own system..
It could be the weight of my bike combined with my fat ***, or the fact that I made sure my wiring was VERY tight up against the inside the fender when I put it back together, but I have no rubbing at all. Matter of fact, I have about a 2.5-3" gap all the way around the tire at full drop. Of corse I'm running an 03 RK fender on my 92 UC, so that may have something to do with it as well.. Any way you look at it, I was just saying how happy I am to be bagged..
I'm not putting you on blast here, just making sure it is known that my ONLY intention was to show off my new system, and not market some shitty *** "Blast from the past" set-up that anally raped some really good people.
Why did so many have issues with the system but there are still a hand full of people that are still using it and love it ? 4 years and counting, and loving every mile..

Sorry, no intensions of associating you with DBs. It was just a bad burn from that jerk that still get my undies in a knot. I just wanted to be sure all was checked out before money was spent on the project. Hey, if it works, great. It's great when someone has a project they like and share the results with everyone else.
It's cool man, I'm not trying to take it that way, just wanted to clarify.. Last thing I need is to get banned from an awesome forum like this because of something stupid like that.. I love the info that's readily available here, and I want it to stay that way.
I have no rubbing at all. Matter of fact, I have about a 2.5-3" gap all the way around the tire at full drop.
@ full 9.5" compression the tire is real close to the harness, insulation may already be worn. To say you have a 2.5-3" gap all the way around the tire at full drop is utterly ridiculous, 100% impossible. I call BS, somethin' wrong here!
