Hey everyone,I am a Dyna rider and I have spent many a day reading this thread looking for info on some of the cool things you touring guys do. There is tons and tons of info and feed back, both good and bad, but well worth the time on this thread.

I come here with a Dyna that I have heavily modified to a touring Dyna bagger and now want to put an air ride on it. There are some other Dyna owners that have done this, but the time that this thread has been running gives me something I can't getwith the Dyna section, lots and lots of feedback. Reading this it seems that there are next to no issues with the Monroe shocks and a few problems with the Gabriels. I like the Gabs because of the inclosed bag and think I will take my chances with it before going to the exposed bag Monroe. All the links to different air fitting and parts used to build everyones systems has been very helpful in putting together my parts list.

Now my primary reason for coming to this thread was to see where everyone is mounting the compressor. I quickly discovered that the panel under the seat is the (almost) ideal location for many of you, but not everyone. With a few seaches of my own I came across the location I believe I will be using, then a day or so later I read about a members using this same location but without showing the pics. I found a company that mounts in the same location, but still wants to much for the system.

Here are some pics of my Dyna Street Bob, the compressor location (to answer the calling many have asked for about another location to mount it) and the link to the company that showed the mounting location.

I want to do this setup on my Bob and hopefully on the New 2015 Limited Low if I can work one into my budget in the spring.

Again, THANKS FOR ALL THE HELP!!!!!

My ride!

I'm sold on this mod, and have most parts enroute. A couple of questions I have: has anyone attempted to add a ballast tank to charge the shocks? My thought is using the compressor to charge the tank while riding, and using the tank to actually fill the shocks to make it quiet operation. Also, I see on the frightprops.com site that the have air mufflers and silencers, any use these? Again, my thought is to make it quiet on both sides of travel.

My other questionmfor those that have done this mod is how vertical the bike is on the stand when the shocks are all the way down. How likely is it for a tip over on flat ground?

My '14 SGS sits really low with empty shocks. But not a real concern to tip over, if you turn your bars to the right.

I hope that helps.
Thank you.

Anyone know where I can find brass fittings to go on the actual shocks? I really don't want to use the cheap plastic ones that came with the shocks, and I just can't seem to find them anywhere. Also, what actual size are they?

Need just a bit more assistance with this project. Not sure where to order the upper bushing from, and the insert sleeve for the lower. Also, I've seen that Dirty Air has a airline fitting that they put on theirs that's brass and has a 90* bend to it so that it only sticks out from the shock about a 1/2". Any idea where to find these??
