Ignition Switch all the time, like was said before started riding in the 60's and they didn't have a kill switch (they barely had brakes) so it must be true that its hard to teach an old dog new tricks

My 2008 (1st year for HD throttle by wire) is extremely sensitive as indicated in previous post to any pressure on the throttle when the kill switch is turned off. I mean even the weight of my hand on the throttle will cause the bike to idle high when I next start it. When this happens I have to start the bike let it idle up and turn it off with the ignitions switch three times. This resets the idle speed back down.

I don’t know if HD changed something or if it is simple luck of the draw but this is not the case on my 2010. I’ve never had my 2010 idle up like my 2008.

I understand it doesn't store codes if you use the ignition switch instead of the kill. Dunno if it's right or not.

Dealer recomended to me to use the kill switch for stopping the engine when I took delivery on my 09 RG.
