Are you getting yours Dyno'd Parakiller? I installed the 255's last summer and had it dyno'd locally. I heard that Fairbault has a good tuner. Not much for options in SD region unfortunately.

ON that note, Monday 50 degrees, Tuesday 53, Wed 60! Bike is getting freed from it's hibernation next week for sure

So here is what I did. first I removed the cats from the front pipe and installed v&h big ovals 2. replaced the air cleaner with a hd ventilator 3. installed 254E cams. We put it back on the dyno and used a itt tuner . The results were a whopping 97 hp and 126lbs of torque! Injection connection did the tuning and I highly recommend them. After riding the bike this past weekend I can tell that it is a very noticible change the bike pulls all the way to 6000 rpm and the response is great. The only down side if you consider it a down side is the bike likes to be above 2000 rpm which is fine with me for the amount of power the bike gained. Riding two up and having that kind of torque is a real comfort !! I have to give alot of credit to Chris from injection connection in Horsham pa. for the time he put it to tuning it as that made all the difference!!

Wow! those are some numbers, what type of heads do you have and what type of AFR are you running. The HP sounds about righ but the torque is a tad bit higher than I expected with the setup you have.

It was a real, real close run-off with 255's, but discussion in the shop and another guy's dyno sheet helped me decide. Parts will be in Tue/Wed., and I hope to have dyno results by this time next week from a little ways north of Detroit!

Standing by and a waiting your results! Just ordered the Fat Cat exhaust and RSD Domino today...Dealers offering 15% off parts and labor if I do cams with them. I think I can do it on my own but the warranty issues may make up my mind.

Great numbers. Looks very similar to a 96" with SE-255s. Looks like the drop off isn't as dramatic though.

Thanks for posting your results! Here's what another posted recently

Just installed new SE 254E cams in my 2007 FXSTC 96 cu. in. with Arlen Ness air intake and Vance and Hines big shot staggers. It really changed the torque curve over the stock cams. It has a lot of torque in all the ranges. I have 82 ft/lbs at 2200 thru 4300 rpm's and from there it is 86 ft/lbs until 5600 rpm's where it starts to drop off. I also ended up with 82 hp. I am very pleased with the torque and horse power of this setup. I am also going to put in NGK Iridium plugs that I was told would gain a couple of more hp.

I would have thought the numbers would be higher. The bike looks to have some decent stage 1 mods to aid the cams. This was posted on a Vtwin forum thread Mar 14th 2011.

Was wondering what a normal cam job install should cost?

Thanks, Lance
