First of all this in no way meant to call out LRS in anyway. Jason over there has been trying to figure things out with me but I want to know if it is just me? My bike? or if anyone else has had issues?
2010 SG standard 3 hole shield on factory batwing fairing.
I am now in possesion of 2 LRS shields that the hole spacings don't seem to be far enough apart. and I have had an aftermarket shield of we will call brand "X" off my buddies bike to check what height I wanted to go with and it fit fine....
Let me say this again "I am in no way saying anything bad about LRS" they have been great and it's not like I can ride right now so no hurry it's 25 degrees here and going down.
they sent me three shields that were bad. sent all three back in the same box and when they returned my money they shorted me a few bucks. was just glad to be rid of them. try Freedom shields. much better quality. check the sponsor section I think they are a sponsor here and offer a discount. If not call them and ask for John, he will take very good care of you. kevdon
I am not looking for a bashing session here just some good ole info... call me crazy but there are alot of satisfied people on these boards running LRS shields and they too sponsor on these boards....
I receive a new LRS shield last week. I was real concerned at first. It was a snug fit, but I finally got it to fit over the three pegs. Have not done a road test yet because of the weather.
Sounds like their holes are either off, or your batwing is jacked...I'd bet money on the 1st option. IMO, you tried (twice) so move to another brand...
Mine fits in better if I pull the cap back a bit because of the shield thickness. Fits great though. I'm having stereo problems and seem to have my cap off daily. Shield works great, looks great and fits well. Try loosening the top two screws on the cap to see if it makes a difference.
maybe tape a strip of paper across the bottom of the LRS shield (outer surface) and trace the holes, then lay the paper on the shield that fits and compare. Especially lay it on a H-D shield to compare if in doubt.
