Default Nitrous ??????

Has anyone tried the new Edelbrock nitrous kits? I am thinking of putting one on my bike.

Not the Edelbrock system, but I ran a NOS FOGGER SYSTEM on a previous bike for over 20 years. That bike was a 110" stroker with the NOS & a Murdoch air shifter & was an awful lot of fun.........

The Edelbrock system does basically the same thing but is easier to install. The fogger system will outflow it, but the difference is probably not enough to worry about.

i know a thing or two about nitrous...IMO the edelbrock system is very good and on the small setting will not damage your engine....juice is funny, it likes timing to be retarded(3 deg per 100hp shot)...it likes fire(hot ignition)...it needs some consistency(bottle pressure)...edelbrock has a neat nozzle and they have spent the money to r&d it properly...i think the small setting is a 25 shot which wont need retarded timing...it will have a fuel solenoid and a nitrous solenoid...solder all wires and make double sure they are grounded...best way to use it on a street bike will be to only hit it in short bursts from 3k rpm to redline...i personally wouldnt bust it off the line(tires aint gonna hold anyway)...there's a tuning window and on the factory edelbrock settings you will be in that window...you should be safe if you use it smart...folks get in trouble when they get greedy...also take into account the bottom end of a factory TC(not the most suited for juice)

>>folks get in trouble when they get greedy

Yea, that's certainly true. I was doing some tuning runs in the 1/4 mile at Atco around 1984 before I really knew the ins & outs of NOS.

I was gradually experimenting with larger & larger NOS & fuel jets. I realized I had gotten slightly carried away when I blew a 3" piece of the front head gasket out the side of the motor...........

I beleave the Edelbrock system is a 35 h.p. kit and it has a rpm switch set at 4500, won't work under 4500.
