Bingo! Mounting a woofer in a saddle bag or a tour pak without some kind of port would be a giant waste of time.

You see the size of that bass port? It's a little big I think, but that is basically what it takes. Personally, I am not super excited about turning my tour pak into what amounts to a speaker enclosure.

A powered marine sub woofer under the tour pak is an interesting idea though. When I was thinking of ways to port the tour pak without turning it into a water magnet, the idea of porting out the bottom came to mind and this would work similarly.

I think were all nuts. I'd love it but there just ain't no way to get bass on a bike like in a car. There is no real-estate on a bike to install anything in any kind of substantial enclosure to replicate any kind of bass that we are use to in a house or a car. If there was don't ya think............................yadda yadda

but as the environment is all open air, you really didn't get that good bass sound and feel, like you would in a car.
Exactly! I have an 8" sub in my right saddle bag. Sounds great in the parking lot. At speed, well that's another story.

Default Sub Woofer Very Achievable

Hey Fellas.

Came across your thread and just thought I would chime in.

I know you probably don't want to hear from a Beemer owner , but I have installed a sub on my bike with very good results. I went for the Kicker 6 1/2" and the Rockford Fosgate Amp and it a great combination.

I am lucky enough to be able to mount it under my seat using the tool box tray as an enclosure . Not exactly factory spec's but whilst doing the ton I can hear the bass ( and also feel it )

All in All I have 4 tweets , 4 Mid range 4" and the sub . It is run by a Clarion Marine Head unit and I think what really gives this system the punch is the Clarion EQ ( $50 ) and the Clarion Crossover ( $70 ) . The Amps are really cheap Pyle 4 channels ( x 2 @ $50 ). I am on a really tight budget , but for $600 I got a system that I thinks holds up against the 5k I have heard. And coming to a set of lights next a HD with loud pipes and I then crank up some Clash .. and the look on his face when he can't hear his bike over mine ... Priceless.
