Just installed the HD Ventilator on my 2010 Road Glide about a week ago. Their instructions also said to remove the gas tank in order to take off the induction module bracket. I just used an allen wrench between the tank and the bracket and was able to ease it off. It took a little patience since I could only turn the mounting screws a little at a time, but wasn't a problem. Leave the tank on.
Similar issue.....I took an old Allen wrench and cut it off just enough to fit under the tank and started backing it out. Took awhile.......
The throttle body is what causes all the BS when installing the SE air cleaner. Thats why I went with the V&H VO2 Naked air cleaner kit. Easy install and it works great!
It took longer to get the tools out than it did to install the Stage One air cleaner on my 2017 107 Tri Glide Ultra. I must admit that it came in quite handy to have long handled allen and torx wrenches - left over from the metric days. As I am sure you all know, most of the smaller sizes will interchange. I am going to buy the SAE ones just because I want to! Calibration was easy. Now waiting for the slip ons to come in, so the Trike will sound better.
Just installed Screamin Eagle stage 1 air cleaner , V&H FP3 and Cobra power port head pipes on my 14 FLHTK. No need to remove tank. I took a 3/8 drive Allen socket and inserted it under the tank into the bolt head and turned the socket with a pair or vice grips. Bolts are just snug. They come out easy.
Just installed my wedge style high flow filter on a 2020 Road Glide Special. Read the forums, watched You tube, and unbolted the rear of the gas tank and propped it up as suggested.
Well the induction module bracket is attached by two Hex fasteners (5mm) and are easily accessed horizontally. No need to move the gas tank.
Behind the newly installed filter, both attachment points where the induction module bracket was.
